Fort

I had this idea come to me
and had to do it...
I have 3 boys so we've build every fort imaginable.

I found myself tired of the after clean up from a fort.

Too many blankets and random stuff needed to help hold it up.

Not any more...

I sewed two sheets together
and placed hooks 4 in the corners of the room.

*disclaimer you have to be ok with putting the hooks on your wall
 and leaving them up...

B U T. . .  look how awesome!

1st step:: Sew the sheets together.

2. Put plastic hooks where ever you want them,
where they will be least noticeable.

{I took this picture to show that the hooks aren't that noticeable. I got small clear plastic hooks, the kind that just stick onto the wall}

3. Snip a small hole in the sheet and hang it up!!!

This hook was further than the sheet would stretch
so we tied some scrap fabric to the corner

There you have it! Super easy, totally free,
no hassle and quick clean up!!
{ {B R I L L I A N T} }

*side note* after several weeks of some fort playing the plastic hooks have been replaced by metal hooks that screw into the wall, the plastic ones kept falling off... metal ones are better

Christmas Eve I am going to deck the place out!!!!
The kids will wake up to a winter wonderland!!
We had a church activity tonight and I scored some of the decor...
snowflakes that look like this... they will be a perfect addition to my decor
tutorial found here

and these cute ones here
this is the only decent picture I found when I googled WinterWonderland... mine will hopefully have an awesome look and feel to it similar to this one... I'm super excited to start this, this year!! Please steel my idea and start this tradition too, the kids will LOVE it!!!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Yay Thanksgiving is here! I've meant to post this all week, and things are just busy, but this is what I'm doing for our Place Cards this year! I think they turned out cute!

I had my 4 year old his little buddies gather a whole bunch of pine cones, which is a great activity for little kiddos! They loved it... I plan on making a wreath too so I had them get a whole bunch!
saw the pine cone right down the middle... the pine cones that are more "gathered" and "tighter" on the top work best...

I snagged some glitter paint and sprayed them all so they were shiny and pretty... I actually wasn't super impressed with this spray paint it didn't spray on very evenly... there was a moment where I think ALL the glitter came out at once so they got sprayed heavy on one side... maybe I should have shoook it looonger...? just a thought, but it did the job and they are pretty and sparkly!

I got some cool textured paper that was "two toned", the one I printed the names on was a cream and mustard color and the backing paper was a pretty shiny maroon... great fall colors... I printed all the names out on my computer and sanded the edges so the other color came through,  and brought out the texture...stuck them together with a cute Brad and slid them in the pre-cut pinecones! Super easy, I think they'll look cute on the pretty, set, table!
