MY Baby V{day} outfit!!!

I found a pink shirt for a couple bucks, and decided to spoof it up a little, and turned it into a perrty darn cute dress, ...  I used an old gray shirt, and got some tulle and went to work... a quick run down on how to:

1, Take the T-shirt apart at the seems
2. Cut strips of fabric and tulle,... I sewed a piece of tulle to the front & back of a piece of old gray shirt gathered at the top,, {had about 10 strips that I sewed ONTO the shirt about 2 inches apart{... {the strips all looked like the bottom right hand corner pic, of collage}
3. Sewed the side seems back together..
4. stitched down the center of a strip of tulle gathered it to make a flower doilie thingy for a little something extra at the top of the "now dress"... {middle pic of collage}
5. Cut out a couple of heart shapes and hand stitched them onto the knees of a pair of leggings
6. Bought some cute striped socks to match and DONE!!!

It honestly turned out soooo stinken cute!!! And I pretty much plan on making a cute pair of leggings for every holiday!!! LOVE IT!!!

::Valentine {Award} Ribbon::

In trying to figure out what to do for my kids' Teacher Valentine's, This idea came to me...

First you need to print off the saying you want: Be mine, #1 Teacher, or you could go any route and make on for grandma or your kids ... whoever... #1 Grandma, I Love You, Love me, xoxo... etc.
Then get a circle cutter, or find something random around your house that you can trace around the words and cut it out with some cute decorative scissors... ink the edges and the first part is done...
then I got some crepe paper and gathered it until it formed a circle... staple the inside to hold it all together...

to make another one but BIGGER gather and staple as you go...
... then I grabbed some of this manuscript mid line paper stuff {like they use at 'school'} and made some more circles and cut them out with the same cute decorative scissors...
here are 3 different ways I put it all together, this first style is more of just a valentine, I layered everything, the back is just one of those valentine doilie thingies... then the school paper, crepe paper, and card stock {be mine}

this style is the layered crepe paper circles and layered crepe paper for the 'ribbon'
this is the style I went with for the Teacher Presents... the bottom layer of the main section & the 'ribbon tails' is the school mid line paper stuff, then the layers are the crepe paper and the card stock "be mine"
lastly I shredded some paper to stuff in the bottom of my brown paper bag, which is what I used to put the chocolates in...
I had each kid write a note to his teacher and put that in the bag too!
end result!! I love the whole school theme... brown paper bag like the kind you take your school lunch in, school {mid line} paper for ribbon and shredded for packing purposes... turned out pretty cute, and love how versatile you could make it...you could also use newspaper, and old book, {rip out the pages} magazines, etc. to layer with...  make one for your kids, for your grandparents or neighbors, you can make them say anything!! ... very cute!!!

Happy V~Day!!!

Valentine Garland

I took the left over hearts from my wreath, made more hearts and turned it into Valentine Garland... I cut out different sizes and styles and strung them onto some string...
I had this swirly punch, so I added it to the mix
taped the heart onto the string,
then taped another heart on top of it, so it looked cute from both sides...
and done...

then I hung it in the window...

Christmas Wreath Makeover

I had a red wreath hanging on my door since Christmas... I decided to cut out some paper hearts and turn my Christmas wreath into a Valentine's wreath!!
I just shoved 'em in between the berries
Before
After
not bad for 15 min. free project!!
