Valentine Food Ideas

I was going through some old pics, {uploaded a bazzilion pics onto the Costco website to create 2010 CD's for my kids} and found some old Valentine pics... thought I'd share em with ya'll for some fun ideas for Valentines Day coming up... One year I made a yummy heart cake... quite simple, just make a round cake and cut it into the shape of a heart and sprinkled it with powdered sugar!!! Yummy

And for breakfast... we either do these Hole in One(s) [above] Bascially a grilled piece of bread with an egg in the middle... in this case the middle is in the shape of a heart... you can eat this with syrup or ketchup ... or do more of a french toast and just cut out a heart shape...or we do pancakes!!
I like to do each individual bite a heart...
.... and for the BEST pancake recipe EVER...

Here ya go...
Single batch: (serves 2-3 people)
1 Cup flour
1 Cup milk
1 egg
2TBSP veg. oil
2TBSP sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
{spoonful of sour cream: optional}

These really are the best pancakes ever... if you currently make pancakes from a store bought brand I promise you'll never go back to them again, once you make these!!! There's no reason to... they are super easy, way fast and sooo delicious!!!  Pancakes are always a fun holiday treat, cause you can dye the color of the batter and make them for any holiday, ... we often do them for St. Patricks Day, (green shamrocks) Easter, {lots of pastel colors, and egg or flower shapes)...{Red & Blue stars} for 4th of July... you get the idea!!!
